Humanity in Action Fellowship Program

The Humanity in Action summer program consists of lectures of prominent speakers, discussions, sight visits, doing research and giving presentations. Starting from the Second World War, the program investigates past and present human- and minority rights violations in Dutch society. A multitude of topics are covered during the program, varying from the Holocaust to islamophobia or violence against the LGBTQIA community. After the one-month program, the HIA fellows create an action plan, in order to create awareness in their own environment. The form and shape of the action programs is entirely up to the fellows. As a senior fellow you can apply for internships on Capitol Hill in Washington, at the EU in Brussels and at Brussel-based NGO’s.

Go to our website(s) for more information: (HIA Netherlands) and (HIA International)

We are looking for Dutch students and recent graduates (despite the fact that the program is entirely in English, this has to do with the Dutch Senior Fellow Network the participants become part of after the program).  Students should be able to convincingly demonstrate their interest in human rights and minority issues in their application.
